Talk:Carboxylate
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I've added some information about the stability of carboxylate ions, but I've only studied A-level Chemistry, so my interpretation of what makes carboxylate anions stable may be too naïve. If an expert stumbles upon this page, it would be good if he or she could give my explanation a once-over. I realise there's also an explanation on the carboxylic acid page, but I went into more detail about why it's more stable than an alkoxide ion on this page. Thanks. (edit: Also, sorry I marked my edits minor on the page; I have that enabled as default, and forgot) Tim Goodwyn 15:14, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
