Original description:

Carrick-on-Shannon Railway Station Now run by Iarnrod Eireann (Irish Rail), the station was opened in December 1862 by the Midland Great Western Railway. The track has now been singled and this platform serves both Up and Down trains. There are seventeen trains on weekdays and fewer on Sundays.
