1. There is no free visual portrayal of Carmelita Spats (a character created by Lemony Snicket) in existence. Any created version would not fulfill the encyclopedic use of this image, as it would not further anyone’s understanding of the character in question.
2. The use of this image does not decrease the opportunity for sale of the book from which it comes (The Austere Academy) since 1) the book is not about Carmelita Spats, nor does the image reveal any consequential knowledge as to the book’s content, and 2) the image appears on the book’s cover.
3. The use of this image contributes significantly to the article, since the entire article deals with the character portrayed in the image.
