Carver Barracks

Carver Barracks is a British Army base based on the old site of RAF Debden.

It is located approximately 1 mile north of the village of Debden, in Essex, England. The airfield was built in 1935-37. The runways were laid in 1940. It was first occupied by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in September, 1942. It was returned to Royal Air Force control on September 5, 1945 It then was given to the army as Carver Barracks. It is also the HQ of Essex Wing, Air Training Corps Air Training Corps & is often used for events.

The site also holds Carver Barracks Kart club which races on the runway which was once used for bombers in the Second World War.
