Cartilage baroque

Cartilage baroque is an art period from the middle of the 17th-century in Norway. It is called Cartilage baroque because the woodcarvings has a resemblance to the curves, or cartilage in the human ear.
Andrew Lawrenceson Smith is seen as one of the most famous representatives for the cartilage baroque, specially for his works in the Stavanger Cathedral.
It is known as Bruskbarokk in Norwegian.
