The Carter House is a nationally recognized historic park situated in the middle of downtown Franklin, Tennessee. In that house the Carter family along with neighbors and slaves hid in the basement waiting for the second Battle of Franklin to end. There are currently tours of the house and grounds along with a brief video about the Carter home, the Carter family, and the Franklin-nashville campaign.
