Carrows

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carrows is a chain of casual dining restaurants that serve breakfast and lunch/dinner in the western portion of the United States. As of 2004, the chain operates over 100 restaurants, mostly in California and with locations in Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. Although New Mexico, is still listed on the company's web page as having restaurants, when the locator is selected, the sub page tells you that there are no Carrows in New Mexico. The last two Albuquerque restaurants have closed.

Carrows was started by David G. Nancarrow in Santa Clara, California in 1970 as the Carrows Hickory Chip Restaurant. Carrows and its sister chain Coco's Bakery Restaurants were purchased by Advantica Restaurant Group in 1996. In 2002 they were acquired by Catalina Restaurant Group, Inc.

In California, Carrows/Coco's Bakery competes directly with Marie Callender's and Bakers Square restaurants. Currently, Carrows is having their yearly Strawberry Festival.
