Carrollton High School is a high school in Carrollton, Georgia.
Carrollton High School (grades 9-12), a three-time Georgia School of Excellence award winner, is recognized across the state and in many national arenas as an innovative, "break the mold" learning environment, as recently noted in recognitions by Redbook Magazine and U.S. News & World Report.
Students experience hands-on educational opportunities that make what they learn relevant to their world. State-of-the-art vocational labs allow them to experience work in industries such as broadcasting, printing, engineering, research and development. A collaboration with the nearby University of West Georgia allows high-achieving students the opportunity to attend college with the Advanced Academy of Georgia before they graduate. Many Carrollton High School alumni have attended prestigious American universities, such as Princeton University, University of Michigan, and Duke University.
The Carrollton athletics program is one of the main features of CHS. Carrollton High School athletes compete in the Georgia High School Association's Class 6AAA. Most notably, Carrollton's athletic facilities have been recognized state-wide. Carrollton is one of only a handful of high schools to feature a "jumbotron" on their football scoreboard. New construction projects recently began on Grisham Stadium, as well as a new basketball gym and fine arts center. CHS' baseball field has received numerous "AAA Field of the Year" awards. Best know for their football and music programs, Carrollton also excels in track and field, baseball, debate, tennis, cheerleading, and cross country.
Entertainment
Athletes Reggie Brown, Jamie Henderson, Darin Williams and Jerrard Terrant are alumni of Carrollton High School. Chris "The Raptor" Porter has performed the soothing jazz flute at CHS on numerous occasions and is headlining a sold-out 2008 summer tour in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin area.
Rap artist T.I. once performed at Carrollton High School.
