Carroll Gartin

Carrol Gartin - American Democatic politician from Laurel, Jones County, Mississippi, who served as a three-term Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi.
He served his first term from 1952 to 1960 under fellow Democrats, Governors Hugh L. White and James P. Coleman. He returned to the office for a half of one (1964-1966) term under Paul B. Johnson, Jr.
Gartin was a staunch white supremacist and a political supporter of Theodore Bilbo[1].
Gartin was also a delegate to the 1956 Democratic National Convention.
Carroll Gartin Justice Building in Jackson, Mississippi, a state capital, is named after him and houses Mississippi Supreme Court, office of the Attorney General and state law library[2].
