Carrington is a small suburb of Nottingham. It lies next to the areas of Sherwood, Mapperley Park, Forest Fields, Basford and the Forest Recreation Ground.
Owing to its proximity to City Centre, Carrington has a number of hotels and guesthouses along its two main roads and hosts a varied selection of local shops and small businesses. Carrington's main retail offering is on the western side of the A60 road. As such, these shops also serve the community of Mapperley Park which is otherwise without any local shops. Carrington is also home to two primary schools.
Recent years have seen the construction of a large housing estate and small supermarket on the site of a former bakery and printing works on the A611 road, and a further supermarket on the A60 road.
