Carpi (Thracian tribe)

Carpi is the name of a Thracian tribe. Their name is the one which gave the name of the Carpathian Mountains. The name means "free men". They were situated in northern Romania and are considered as being a sub tribe of the Dacians, another Thracian sub tribe.
