Carolyn Gusoff

Carolyn Sue Gusoff (born 1964 in Hempstead, New York) is an Emmy Award-winning American reporter. Gusoff is currently working at WNBC in New York City.

In 1980, Gusoff graduated from George W. Hewlett High School. In 1984, Gusoff graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in English and Government. Gusoff also attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she got her master's degree in Journalism.
Gusoff started her career in Fort Myers, Florida in 1985, where she worked at WNFM-TV and WLEQ-FM. Gusoff left Florida in 1987. In the late 1980's, Gusoff began working at News 12 Long Island. In August 1993, Gusoff joined WNBC, the NBC affiliate in New York City. Gusoff started there as a Long Island Correspondent. During her time on NBC 4, Gusoff has covered the crash of TWA Flight 800, the crash of American Airlines Flight 587 and the Blizzard of 1996. Today, Gusoff anchors Today in New York on Saturday and Sunday mornings on WNBC.

In addition to her 1994 Emmy for On-Camera Performance/General Assignment Reporting, Gusoff has been awarded six New York Emmy nominations for coverage including her reporting of the American Airlines Flight 587 crash and the Belmont Stakes. Other awards/citations include dozens of Long Island Coalition "FOLIO" awards; six first place Society of Professional Journalists/Press Club of Long Island awards for deadline and feature reporting; a national award from The American Women in Radio and Television Commendation; a local Emmy award for outstanding coverage of a breaking story; an Associated Press/New York Spot News Award for "Avianca Crash," and a United Press International/New York Broadcast Award for outstanding achievement, investigative documentary, "No Quick Fix."[1]

In September 1991, Gusoff married plastic surgeon Dr. Jon Turk. Gusoff lives in Nassau County, New York with her husband and children.
