Carolina Southern Railroad

Carolina Southern Railroad Co. operates between Whiteville, North Carolina and Mullins, South Carolina. Also between Chadbourn, North Carolina and Conway, South Carolina The company in 1995 purchased and began operating two former CSX Transportation branch lines. Commodities carried by the railroad are coal, wood products, stone, grain, agricultural chemical, and processed food. Accessible to the line are industrial parks in Whiteville, North Carolina as well as Marion, South Carolina The railroad connects with CSX Transportation at Mullins and with the Waccamaw Coast Line at Conway.
