[edit] Cottonwood Beers

Carolina Beer Company acquired the Cottonwood Brewery brands in November of 2000, which originated in Boone, NC in 1992. Because the Cottonwood Ales were created in the mountains of North Carolina, one nickname was “Brewed with Altitude.”

The founding member of our "HIGH COTTON" line, this ale was the first HIGH GRAVITY beer brewed after the new law passed in August 2005.

Cottonwood Irish Style Red Ale - Available May-June. Has a deep ruby color reflecting the dominant caramel malt taste profile. “Irish” is brewed an extra two hours in the kettle which brings out the roasted malt taste.

Cottonwood Pumpkin Spiced Ale - Available September-October. A spiced ale that is moderately bodied, crisp, and smooth to the mouth. Medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival, the 2000 World Beer Cup, and US Beer Tasting Championships.

Cottonwood Almond Stout - Available November-December. A stout brewed with a variety of malts including Chocolate, Crystal, Munich, and Black Malt, hopped with Eroica, Mt. Hood, and Northern Brewers hops, then finished with a touch of Real Almond Flavor.
