Carol Shaw (politician)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Councillor Carol Shaw is a London Liberal Democrat Politician. She represents Brondesbury Park Ward on Brent Council.
She was elected in 1990, as a Conservative. However, in 2003, just three weeks before the Brent East by-election, Shaw defected to the Liberal Democrats, expressing frustration with the 'weak' leadership of Iain Duncan Smith and commending the 'commitment and energy shown by Sarah Teather'.[1] Teather subsequently won the by-election and, at the local elections in 2006, Brondesbury Park elected three Liberal Democrat councillors, with a significantly increased majority for Shaw.
Shaw supported Chris Huhne in the 2006 Liberal Democrat leadership election. [2]
