Carlyon Cup

The Carlyon Cup is a Group 3 Australian thoroughbred horse race for horses aged 4 years old and over, under open handicap conditions, over a distance of 1400m.

It is held annually at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne.

1995 held over 1800m
1996 - 1997 held over 1600m
1998 - 2000 held over 1800m
2001 - 2005 held over 1600m
2006 onwards held over 1400m

1977 – 1979 was a Principal Race
1980 – 2002 was a Group 2
2003 onwards Group 3

1977 - 2000 the race was known as the ‘T.S. Carlyon Cup’
2001 onwards the race has been called ‘Carlyon Cup’.
