Carly Reynolds is a Beverly Hills, 90210 character played by two-time Oscar winning actress Hilary Swank.

Carly Reynolds was introduced in the season eight premiere, "Aloha Beverly Hills," and subsequently left 90210 later in the season in the episode "The Elephant's Father."

She first meets Steve Sanders at a soccer game in which Kelly's sister Erin is playing. He criticizes her for being overprotective of her son Zach, while she is insulted at his interference. He later adds insult to injury when a conflict between Carly and Steve's date gets Carly fired from her waitress job.

After he returns from a disastrous trip to Hawaii to support Donna's first job as a professional fashion designer which ends with Kelly getting shot in the parking lot of LAX, Steve manages to change Carly's attitude towards him after he talks Nat into hiring her at the Peach Pit. They begin a romantic relationship that is cut short when her father suffers a heart attack and she decides to move back to Montana with Zach. Steve later admitted to Brandon that if he truly loved her, he would have moved with her to Montana. The storyline was reportedly cut short after viewers responded poorly to Swank's character and she was written out of the show. The entire story of Swank's time on 90210 has become somewhat legendary because the show was not highly regarded by critics and she was basically fired from it, only to become an extraordinarily successful film actress and one of the few thespians ever to win multiple Best Acting Oscars.
