[edit] Before the Bay

Carly's home life was not a happy one as her father would repeatedly beat her and her mother. One Incident left Carly with a fractured skull and the authorities were brought in. Carly was then taken in by Tom and Pippa Fletcher.

[edit] History

Carly moved to Summer Bay with Tom and Pippa and their other foster children Frank Morgan, Steven Matheson, Lyn Davenport and Sally Fletcher, following Tom losing his job in the city. On her arrival, Carly attracted the attentions of local boys Lance Smart and Martin Dibble, but Carly only had eyes for Matt Wilson, a local surfer.

In a bid to get Matt's attention, Bobby suggested Carly pretend she was drowning so Matt would rescue her. The plan backfired when Carly was caught in a rip. Fortunately for Carly, Martin was there to save her.

One night in 1988, Carly came home in tears after hitch-hiking from a party. It transpired that she had been raped by a hitch-hiker. Following this Carly descended into a period of alcoholism and generally went off the rails.

In 1990, Carly met soldier Ben Lucini and within the following year they were married and moved away from the Bay. They had several children.

Carly returned several times between 1997 and 2002 for occasions like Sally's non-wedding to Kerian Fletcher and her wedding to Flynn Saunders and the Summer Bay 150th anniversary celebrations.

Carly alongside Steven returned for their foster sister Sally Fletcher's tearful farewell concert.
