Carlos Gomes Lacerda

Carlos G. Lacerda (Carlos Gomes Lacerda) is a Brazilian artist, painter and writer.

Carlos G. Lacerda was born in Goias City, Goias State-Brazil. He is the son of Francisco Gomes Lacerda and Maria G. de Oliveira Lacerda. At age of 4, the Lacerda family followed the trend of many local families that resided in the Center-West region of Brazil, they moved to Goiania, the new capital of Goias State, a city with aspiring architectural influence of Art Deco. In 1984 Carlos G. Lacerda migrated to the US, a current trend that occurred with Brazilian youth of the middle-and-upper social class. Prior to the turn of the millennium, Carlos G. Lacerda was making frequent visits to Europe and was greatly influence by the arts, a period of great revelation in his artistic representation. Living in San Francisco-California, he was able to get some exposure to his works and a member of the "Open-Studios" annual event. In Artweek Magazine, Dec. 2001/Jan 2002 - Vol.32, issue 12 - previews-"Palette of Hope" painting was published for the artshow "Re-generation" (San Francisco-CA).

Carlos G. Lacerda also attended: California State University-Northridge in his pursuit of refinement and searching for academic standards of his artworks, he graduated "Cum-Laude". During his attendance at CSUN he also explore the art of writing and was award for his extensive achievement in writing. Published writing in the Anthology New Voices, "Palette of Hope", an essay based on Mango Days by Patty Smith. Published in 2004, in the book Wings, the essay "Behind the White-Picket-Fence", an interpretation of what constitute today a family, divorce and its multi-shapes (Los Angeles-CA). Carlos G. Lacerda also continues to explore the idea of art and motion, in the field of Computer Animation and Graphic Arts.
