Carlos Andrés Quiñonez (born August 18, 1980) is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a wingback for Emelec in the Ecuadorian Football League.
[edit] Playing style
He is a fast, skillful defender that often leads the team's attacking by coming from the back in the right side of the pitch. At the moment he is considered to be Emelec's captain by the team's manager.
As a youth player he was signed by Dutch giants AFC Ajax where he spent about a year but never got a chance to play in their first team. In 2000, he went back to Ecuador and is now one of Emelec's best players. Although the media hail him as the best wing back in the Ecuadorian league, he has not had many opportunities in Ecuador's national team.
