Carlo Marx
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Carlo Marx is a character in the novel On the Road by Jack Kerouac. He was an alias for beat poet Allen Ginsberg.
In the book, Carlo is famous within the loose group of friends for his fantastic and often mad poetry, much as Ginsberg was in the real world. He is strongly connected with the main character Dean Moriarty, with whom he communicates on a seemingly higher level of the mind. Although later in the novel their friendship is strained and the two sever their connection.
