The band originally started out with the merging of two bands. The first was Adversary. The line-up then consisted of Zach Swain on drums,Andrew Strickland and Brian Hanson on guitar,Jeff Howe on bass, and Ryan Dahlberg on vocals. The other band was Rosalind. The band was made up of Joe Enos on vocals and guitar, Zach Swain on guitar, Strickland on bass, and Gregg Blachstein on drums. Both bands broke up, and interconnected members joined and replaced each other to finally form Carlisle.
