[edit] History
In 2000, the Ontario government awarded funding for classrooms and laboratory space in the newly built Azrieli Pavilion, as well as for computing and laboratory equipment. This funding was awarded according to the provincial government's call to address the double cohort with joint programs between community colleges and universities.
In 2003, CSIT opened under the directorship of Dr. Ben Gianni, offering a unique program in partnership with Algonquin College, whereby students would study one of two streams in information technology (network technology, or interactive multimedia and design) and graduate in four years with both a college diploma from Algonquin College, and a Bachelor of Information Technology from Carleton University.
In September 2005, Dr. Dorina Petriu took over directorship of CSIT.
In September 2006, CSIT acquired a motion capture 3D development system and a renderfarm.
