Carl Franklin

Carl Franklin (born April 11, 1949 in Richmond, California) is an American film director and actor. He attended the AFI Conservatory and graduated with an M.F.A. degree in 1986. Carl is most noted for Devil in a Blue Dress, which was based on the book by Walter Mosley and starred Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle. He also attended the University of California, Berkeley.
