Carl Finnigan hails from South Tyneside and is a young English footballer who currently plays for Falkirk having joined from Newcastle United. As a youngster,he had trials at a number of club's, including West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers, whose North-East scouts were Dave Mooney and Bill Gibbs respectively. These were the two scouts who took Michael Carrick away to West Ham and both were big fans of Carl's, regularly watching him banging in the goals with monotonous regularity for South Tyneside Schools'Under 15's and Jarrow F.C. Under 15's. Finnigan scored 59 goals for United at reserve level from 102 appearances. He was top scorer this season at Newcastle with 5 goals for the reserve team. Finnigan plays as a striker and has been brought in to replace the departed Anthony Stokes who left the Bairns to play for Sunderland.

He is renowned for his strength, intelligence, technique, eye for goal, his speed down the right wing and lethal finishing.

Made his Falkirk and league debut against Kilmarnock on the 27th January 2007.[1]

The forward scored his first Bairns' goal - after a neat one-two with Alan Gow - against Rangers. He scored his second against Inverness Caledion Thistle in the 2006-2007 season, from the edge of the box.
