Carl Brettschneider (born December 2, 1931) is a former All-Pro linebacker in the NFL. He played for the Chicago Cardinals and Detroit Lions.

Named one of the Top 10 Meanest Athletes in Detroit history.

Played himself in the 1968 film Paper Lion based on the novel by George Plimpton.
