The Caribbean Hour started out as a weekly programme aired on Love 101 FM in Jamaica. Since 2001, this programme has featured presentations from local community activities to major Caribbean Gospel events including “Fun in the Son”, the annual Barbados Gospelfest, and the Caribbean Gospel Music Awards, better known as the Marlin Awards.
The new-look, new-sound Caribbean Hour was launched in Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St Kitts/Nevis, Dominica, and St. Lucia in February 2005 and involves much more participation from broadcasters and guests from more Caribbean territories; interviews, cultural features, places of interest, recordings from live events, personality highlights and more.
Nine months after the first regional broadcast, The Caribbean Hour was nominated in Dominica’s Flamboyant Awards in the “Best Produced Programme” category.

Even though the weekly broadcast has not been aired in Dominica since the closure of Joy FM, Dominica's Kairi FM continues to air their special live events including Jamaica's National Gospel & Genesis Festivals, Papa San and Friends live from Miami, Florida, The Maja Awards, Barbados Gospelfest, and a number of major gospel events in the Cayman Islands including the annual Cayman Islands Gospel Festival. Another new partner is Streaming Praise (Internet) Radio located in Ontario, Canada whose listeners now share in these special broadcasts.
