Carey College is a private Christian school in Panmure a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand.

The school's motto is "in your light we see light" referring to Jesus. The school's secondary motto is "nurture, excellence, truth". This school has rejected the National Certificate of Educational Achievement ("NCEA") exams since it regards them as hollow.[citation needed] Instead it has taken on Cambridge exams. The current number of students of the school is at about 40, from year 1 to year 13, and the enrolments for this year was smaller than it has been in other years.[citation needed]

This school is based on Christian theology. The principal, Michael Drake, made a stance opposing the Child Discipline Act.

The school has no uniform and yet they have a very rigid dress code. The reasoning for this is "to keep girls as girls and boys as boys".[who?] There has been confrontations between parents and teachers as to the dress code requirements and yet the teachers of the school have stuck to their beliefs and that the school represents, not allowing any leeway and making all people the same. They do this by quoting the Bible "all are the same in the eyes of God".[who?]
