Caretaker are a rock band from Hampshire who formed in 1998 when the original members met at college. The band's name is taken from the title of Harold Pinter's play "The Caretaker".

The band have never been signed, but have released several records with the help of established labels. They rarely tour, but tend to play sporadic "one-off" gigs (mostly in Southern England).

In September 2004 it was announced that original drummer Chris Grigg had left the band and had been replaced by Reuben frontman Jamie Lenman.

[edit] Notes

Not to be confused with the musical project of the same name

As of September 2007, guitarist John Hibbird has taken leave from the band to travel the world. The remaining three members of the band are on "hiatus" status, but intend to keep the band alive whilst he is away.

The Band are currently working on a follow up to the 2001 album "Caretaker".
