Caren Kaye is an American television and film actress, best known for her starring role as the tutor in the 1983 film My Tutor.

[edit] Career

Sometimes credited as Karen Kaye, Caren Kaye has appeared in dozens of films and guest starred in many TV series.

Of all her appearances, she is best remembered for her topless scenes in My Tutor. In this film she played an older woman who was hired to tutor a high school graduate. His father hired her as the graduate needed a make-up exam in French during the summer vacation in order to be accepted into College after the summer.

As she also lived in the rich family's house, she made a a point of having nightly skinny dipping in the family swimming pool, which the protagonist peeped on and then had sexual fantasies about her. She caught him one time and without being angry just asked him for no more spying. After being once again betrayed by her on and off ex-boyfriend, the young man exposed having feelings for her and latter approached her in the pool in plain sight. This time she just smiled and pulled him in the pool with her. She then took him to her room, in which he lost his virginity as they began a love affair that left teenagers everywhere wishing they could be so lucky. Pictures of a naked Caren Kaye, taken from the film, have appeared all over the Internet.

In 1984, she co-starred as the mother of Jason Bateman and girlfriend of David Garrison ("Married With Children") in the teen comedy "It's Your Move" on NBC. The series lasted only one season but remains a cult favorite.

[edit] Later years

Kaye used her acting as a means to pay college tuition and earn both a Masters and Doctorate in Psychology. In November 2003, she has retired from show business in favor of being on the advisory board of www.healingpeople.com, an Internet website focusing on holistic and alternative medicine.
