Caramell is a Swedish Eurodance and Bubblegum dance musical group. The group is formed by singers Malin and Katia and producers Jorge "Vasco" Vasconcelo and Juha "Millboy" Myllylä.[1]
Their single "Om Du Var Min" made it to the number one spot on Swedish charts the week of April 25, 1999.[2]
They are best known online for the internet phenomenon known as Caramelldansen, a looping Flash animation showing anime characters Mai and Mii from the japanese visual novel Popotan. The animation includes a speedup version of the song "Caramelldansen," which means "Caramel Dance," from Caramell's Supergott Album. Taken off as an Internet meme, the popular Caramelldansen animation has been duplicated with characters from various anime and video game series, among others. [3]
