Carab Saalax

Carab Saalax is a Somali clan, part of the Bin Neebir group of the Meheri Ismail clan. It is a neutral clan in the Somali Civil War. The clan is originally from the Al Mahrah Governorate in Yemen, where the current governor is a Carab Saalax Somali. The Carab Saalax mainly reside in Puntland. The Carab Saalax were traveling back and forth between Somalia and Yemen. They were business people that helped connect Somalia with the Arab world. They emigrated from Yemen about 300 hundred years ago and married people from the Mudug area.
