Car Button Cloth was alternative rock band The Lemonheads' last album before the band's 8-year breakup from 1997 to 2005. The album, originally released in 1996, was also the band's last studio album until the 2006 release of The Lemonheads.
Despite not being as successful as the previous two albums and receiving lukewarm reviews, it has gained a minor cult following in recent times. The songs "It's All True", "If I Could Talk, I'd Tell You", and "The Outdoor Type" were released as singles in the UK.
"If I Could Talk I'd Tell You" was co-written by Vaselines leader Eugene Kelly.
