[edit] Car #19

I guess "neither", since consensus is that it doesn't belong in there at all. I hate to get in the middle of that debate, but even with the source, it doesn't seem like people want it in there. But in any case, in keeping with WP:NPOV, any sentence that sounds slightly one-sided should be re-worded. Hope this helps! --D-Day I'm all ears 22:31, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Looks good. Not sure how long it'll stay there, but it'll do the job in the time being. --D-Day I'm all ears 23:38, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Content Dispute?

Re your message: WP:AIV is for vandalism, not a POV pushing/content dispute that this appears to be. If this editor violates WP:3RR, then you should report him to WP:AN3. However, do not violate the 3RR yourself. -- Gogo Dodo 21:29, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Re your message: I chose not to block the user because the recent edits were a content dispute without any personal attacks. I agree that this editor has a single-minded purpose, but I was looking at it from the point of view of immediate simple vandalism to the article and that was not occurring. No worries about offending me, I'm not offended. =) -- Gogo Dodo 22:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] IP Guy

Not involving personal disputes? Odd. You'd think calling editors whitewashers and conspirators would do the job. Critcism of Wikipedia doesn't go over very well. Plus, he was trying to POV a non-POV statement. I'd give the banning a shot, but I doubt it'd be worth it. I left him a message on his talk page stating my views on the matter. Perhaps he'll grow up or move onto something else.

BTW, I'm CarlLong46 on the NRN board and LILK on the Carl Long board. Just thought I'd say hello! --D-Day I'm all ears 23:01, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Verl.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Verl.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Verl.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Verl.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:15, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

You said "I just wanted to let you know that I did edit the fair use rationale for the Valvoline Evernham Racing logo used in the Gillett Evernham Motorsports article. If you wish, you can take a look at it to see if it needs anymore editing. If so, can you help me on that? Thanks! Captain Spyro 23:39, 18 September 2007 (UTC)"
My reply: Fair use rationale is so extremely difficult and constantly changing that I don't touch it. I haven't uploaded any fair use images in months and I don't plan to do any more. I don't have any advice other than make sure that you have a fair use rationale for each use, and to make it as complete as possible. Royalbroil 00:03, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Emslogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Emslogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:24, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
