    Cape Flattery is the town where Ma and Pa Kettle are based.  The story started with the book by Betty MacDonald, called the Egg and I. The book was made into a movie in 1947, starring Fred MacMurray and Claudette Colbert, and introduced the Kettles and their 15 children.
