This is a very poor definition and needs revising. An explanation of the biochemical events that occur would be useful.

The final step in sperm maturation is sperm activation, not sperm capacitation. Without activation there is no acrosome reaction Snellios (talk) 13:16, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
