Captain Silver (キャプテンシルバー?) was a platform game by Data East. Initially released on arcades, it was later ported on the Sega Master System by Sega, and Famicom by Tokuma Shoten. The main character is an adventurer named Jim Avery, who is search of Captain's Silver secret treasure hidden in an island. The game then consists in guiding him throughout varied scenes, including towns, pirate ships and jungles among them. The enemies are not pirates, but other creatures such as rats, skeletons and other terror-like monsters, though also natives can be found. Defeating enemies lends gold, which can be used to buy certain power-ups.
Curiously, the American version of the Master System port only contain four levels when its manual stated that it had more; also, the manual stated that there were more enemies and bosses than could actually be found in the game. These levels, enemies and bosses can be found in the Canadian and European versions.
