Capital punishment in Bulgaria

Capital punishment in Bulgaria was abolished on 1998-12-12 with the last execution having been carried out by firing squad on 1989-11-04. The Parliament of Bulgaria had introduced a moratorium on 1990-07-20 and protocol number six of the European Convention on Human Rights came into force on 1999-10-01.
