The Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps is a World Class (formerly Division I) drum and bugle corps based in Columbus, Ohio and founded in 1999, and is a member of Drum Corps International. One of three World Class corps in Ohio (the other two being the Bluecoats and Glassmen), Capital Regiment is the newest corps of that state and has rapidly been climbing the ranks since joining that division at the end of the 2002 season.
After spending two seasons in Division III (now Open Class), placing ninth and then sixth, Capital Regiment entered Division I competition placing twenty-first in their third season (Div I rankings). They have since climbed the ranks, and received their highest placement to date, fourteenth, in 2004. In the 2005 season, they placed 15th. Capital Regiment became inactive for the 2007 marching season. Although the organization had hopes of competing in 2008, Capital Regiment will remain inactive for the 2008 season.[1]
The corps director is Richard D. Bays.
