Capital Pride (Ottawa)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Capital Pride (French: Fierté de la capitale) is the annual gay pride event in Ottawa, Ontario, the capital of Canada, and the neighbouring city of Gatineau, Quebec it has been held annually since 1986.

The event has been troubled by financial problems in recent years.

A long-term reconstruction project on Bank Street, coupled with security and traffic flow problems, has caused organizers to change the parade route, to go past Parliament Hill and down Elgin Street to Festival Plaza in front of Ottawa City Hall.
