Capel St. Mary

Capel St. Mary is a village about 6 miles southwest of Ipswich. "Capel" has one pub called The White Horse, which has recently been refurbished. It also has a primary school, which provides a good education to the local young children. Just outside the village, close to a manor house there is a small castle, which is in surprisingly good condition.
In the middle of the village there is a small collection of shops, which includes a Chinese takeaway, a bakers, a hairdressers, a greengrocers, a Co-Op and a newsagents
Capel St. Mary has one main playing field with tennis courts (Membership required) football pitches, a cricket ground and children's playground with basket ball area. This is where Capel Plough F.C play.
Capel has 3 churches. It has a very old Anglican church, a Methodist church and a Baptist church which is fairly new.
The village is is bypassed by the A12 road and also has a Beaver Scout colony, a Cub Scout pack, a Scout troop and an Explorer scout unit.
