Cape Cornwall School is a comprehensive school in St Just in Penwith, Cornwall. The school teaches 11-16 year olds. A new head teacher, Miss Steel, started on February 8, 2008 on the retirement of Robin Kneebone, head since 1996. The Deputy head is Mr Ken Hall.
The UK Government awarded specialist Arts status to the school in 2006.[1] The funding, which amounts to over £300,000 over four years, started in September 2006. The school is now about to offer a visionary curriculum to its students. The Arts have been combined together and through innovative timetabling all pupils will be able to better access art forms suited to their inherent abilities. Curriculum enhancement days will feature through the year with all departments offering new and exciting learning experiences. The Creative Arts department are also in the forefront of pioneering the new 14-19 diploma of Creative Media.[2]
It is also the most westerly secondary school in mainland Britain.
