The Cape Cod Central Railroad is a heritage railroad located in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
It operates excursion trains from downtown Hyannis to the Cape Cod Canal during the summer tourist season. It offers sightseeing trains, evening dinner trains the Elegant Dinner Train and the Family supper Train, and Sunday brunch trains, as well as a Santa train on weekends during the month of December. Ongoing politics have prevented restoration of passenger rail service from Cape Cod to the Boston area.
This railroad should not be confused with the Cape Cod Central Railroad which was incorporated in 1861 and merged into the Cape Cod Railroad in 1868. See the article on the Old Colony Railroad for further information.
The Cape Cod Central Railroad is a subsidiary of Cape Rail Inc., which also operates the Massachusetts Coastal Railroad. [1]
