  • Resorts of the Canadian Rockies I just found while checking Fernie Alpine Resort for spam (none really, amazingly) and discovered that the whole Resorts of etc article is a corporate article, not a discussion of resorts in the Rockies; it needs retitling Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, Inc. or Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc., whatever the format is; although it's not as much ugly corpo-bumpf as Great Wolf Resorts it's still gonna need watching; what other cats should go on it I'm not sure; in the Skiing cat it shoudl be refined to a "skiing companies" subcat so its seductive title doesn't suggest it's a page about resorts, rather than a resort company who wants people to see only articles on their resorts.Skookum1 (talk) 12:36, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Sacred Headwaters. The title of this new article makes me uncomfortable for obvious reasons; it's a spin-off of the coal-bed methane sections at Tahltan and Iskut, British Columbia and is a citable title but obfviously a broad brush, inviting disambiguation huh? The coal-bed project proposal is in the Klappan Valley or Klappan Plateau (there is no Klappan River article yet, though should be as it's a major tributary of the Stikine); once such an article is created a merge of this Sacred headwaters one into it would seem to work, although the Sacred headwaters as described also include the Nass and Skeena headwaters; the article exists to highlight the coal-bed methane proposal, which is in the Klappan and not the Skeena or Nass, basins. Given this and similar articles or sections in need of becoming articles, Category:Environmental controversies in Canada and respective subcats seems like a good idea, if not quite by that name and I wouldn't know which hierarchy it would belong in. This article had not cats, I added a few, maybe there are other suitable.Skookum1 (talk) 15:34, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Whistler-Blackcomb. I just de-brochurized Red Mountain Resort so given the hypefests on Bear mtn and other realty-oriented articles I thought to look at Whistler-Blackcomb; much the same problem, only more of it. Needs a good anti-spam weedwhack and an eye out for promotional/hype language and superfluous but sales-oreinted detail. Too mcuh work for e, and I lived there seven yers, so would rather not; but somebody needs to take the shears to this overblown and very wooly designer sheep. Esp. given Olympics p.r.-management/promotion likely to twiddle with it in the next while; right now it reads like an Intrawest brochure....btw I put this here but think maybe a section on thsees noticeboards for POV/Spam issues would be a good thing.Skookum1 (talk) 13:32, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Bear Mountain (resort) again. See this edit, where I reversed a wholesale deletion of material the IP address user didn't like; this was tit-for-tat for my deletion of overtly real estate/tourism-promotional materials; the restored material needs de-POVizing but is legitimate content. Ihad de-POVized some of it before, but it still needs work, and this page and others like it (esp. around Victoria like Ten Mile Point, British Columbia need monitoring because of "POV wars"Skookum1 (talk) 17:39, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Jim Prentice. IP's from Industry Canada were caught editing (the CBC called it "buffing") Prentice's article. Some extra watching might be necessary for a while. Also questions of whether Michael Geist is a reliable source. -Royalguard11(T·R!) 17:38, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Skungwai/SG_ang Gwaay Llnaagay/Ninstints - choice of name re article creation; please see this from Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, which needs the village split off. Formatting and orthography choices for indigenous articles in general need dicscussion/consistency somewhere/somehow.Skookum1 (talk) 21:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Resolved, Ninstints chosen per Skidegate, Masset, Cumshewa usages.Skookum1 (talk) 17:50, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
