[edit] Geography of Canada

The Irish did a great article on the geography of Ireland, as did the British on Geography of the United Kingdom. Let's expand it.

[edit] Liberalism in Canada

Needs to be expanded.

  • Support. This one needs work. As it is currently written it is about Liberal parties rather than about Liberalism in Canada, generally. The material on Liberal parties could remain and we could also talk about trends towards liberalism and the liberalism/conservatism dialectic. It could be an interesting article. Sunray 18:00, 2005 Jan 21 (UTC)
  • Support. I think this article needs it a lot more than Tommy's does. - Jord 15:13, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)

This nomination was selected as the April 2005 Canada collaboration. (improvements)

[edit] Tommy Douglas

Tommy is the Greatest Canadian! His article should be expanded to reflect his greatness. (By the way, this is fact, not bias. I voted for Trudeau ;-)

Comments:

  • Douglas did Canada a great service and shaped many aspects of Canadian political culture that now distinguish us from our southern neighbour. The fact that he was named The Greatest Canadian shows how many recognize this. Sunray 18:41, 2004 Dec 19 (UTC)

This nomination was selected as the May 2005 Canada collaboration. (improvements)

[edit] Oak Ridges Moraine

The article currently has some decent information on the Oak Ridges Moraine, but given the importance of this natural region to south-central Ontario, I believe it deserves to have a far greater scope.

Comments:

  • The Moraine is the source of water for the Toronto area and there is a huge struggle to keep it from development. The story of this struggle is an interesting one and should be told. Sunray 00:57, 2005 Jan 22 (UTC)
  • I can probably provide a few additions about the "struggle" (though I'm not involved in it), but I'd mainly contribute in terms of editing, not adding details. --Deathphoenix 15:51, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC)

This nomination was selected as the June 2005 Canada collaboration. (improvements)

This nomination was selected as the August 2005 Canada collaboration. It was later changed to Michaëlle Jean on August 8 by public demand, as a result of Jean's nomination as Governor General. (improvements to Canada Health Act, improvements to Michaëlle Jean)

[edit] Canada Health Act

User:MatthewJ nominated it, but didn't include the nomination here. I think it's a good idea, since the CHA is a pretty important piece of legislation in Canada.

This organization had some prominence in the 1960s-1980s with its film shorts. It still has cultural significance today.

One of the most important explorers in Canadian history, mapping out huge portions of the west while with the North West Co. Definately needs more attention.

  8. Fishhead64 Wow, I updated it without even knowing this was under discussion! There are several other BC-related stubs that could do with improving that I want to work on (Alexander Mackenzie and Liard River come to mind). I created some new entries as well - check out John Finlay, John Stuart and Samuel Black.
