The Association of Black Sociologists (ABS) is an academic organization who define themselves in a statement on their web site [[1]] as "a national, professional organization of sociologists and social scientists, founded by women and men of African descent. The organization's mission is to build a tradition of scholarship that will serve Black people in perpetuity."
Membership is open to all and has never been limited to "black" scholars.
Their official peer-reviewed journal is called Race and Society.
