Mr. Grumpsy was a short-lived fictional character in the British television soap Coronation Street. Rather than being human like most of the other characters, Mr. Grumpsy was a garden gnome owned by Claire Peacock. He came to prominence only after his decapitation in the controlled explosion carried out following the discovery of a bomb in the Peacocks' garden. Following the unearthing of the bomb by Chesney and his metal detector the entire street had to be evacuated and spent the rest of the day in the local community hall.
Mr. Grumpsy appeared in the second of two episodes shown on Monday February 26 2007. He has not been seen since.

Mr. Grumpsy was distinguishable by his green jacket and red cap. However as he was damaged irreparably in the bomb explosion, his appearance has become somewhat dishevelled.
