The numbers on the template currently appear to indicate the ridings in which each party is leading rather than the number of ridings actually called for each party. That does not match the column heading. -- Ray Oiler 03:14, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

This table is getting more and more cluttered.

I propose to remove the "full party names". This does not add any information to the table, and makes it inconsistent with how elections table are presented throughout Canadian elections articles.

I also propose to remove the # of male and female candidates, and incorporate this information into the main article.

I don't think it was so cluttered, but the information you removed was not very pertinent anyway in a summary of results. So why not? --Valmi ✒ 20:31, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

PLease stop switching elizabeth and jim harris. Elizabeth may is the new leader of the green party. Just to fill you all in and its getting fairly nnoying having to change it

Dolly: you are absolutely right. Elizabeth May is the new leader of the Green Party of Canada. This template is about the 2006 election, though. Jim Harris was the leader of the GPC during the 2006 election, so it is his name that appears here. Elizabeth May was not the leader during the 2006 election. I hope that we can agree on these facts. The information on this template are the results/status of the 2006 federal election. It should not be updated with current information (such as changes in party leadership, vacancies in seats, byelection results, MPs changing parties, etc.).
