What is the basis for the recent editor's claim that Canyon County "is known for its very large Latino and African American Population." The overall statistics for Santa Clarita suggest this could not possibly be true, particularly for the tiny African American population in the city. It appears that the author has an agenda.

I would agree. I've lived in Canyon Country for 17 years and the demographics of the population are mostly white. The city of Santa Clarita's website has the following statement

"The mix of the City’s population is not as diverse as the county’s population. Close to 80% of Santa Clarita’s population describes itself as White."

Also, the reference to the "high school riot" is a figment of the imagination of a local reporter. A fight occurred, but it was far from a riot.

I recently relocated to Canyon Country and love it, and im purple.
