[edit] MtF to play an MtF in prime time

Alexandra Billings was the first MtF to play an MtF in prime time. In episodes of "Karen Sisco" (2003), "ER" (2005), "Grey's Anatomy" (2006) and Nurses (2007), she played a male-to-female transsexual.

Indeed Billings landed several episodic roles, but I think Cayne is a groundbreaker in that she has landed a co-starring role in a major primetime show.
